Kujira 12 Year Ryukyu Whisky

Founded in 1952, Kumesen Syuzo started on distilling alcoholic beverages, unique to Okinawa islands of Japan, also known as Ryuku islands. Then around 1989, this innovative distillery started to age them in oak barrels, creating a unique kind of ji-whisky in its own category, thus named it the Ryukyu Whisky. With 20 years maturing in bourbon casks, Kujira as a single grain whisky provides a wonderful taste profile that has distinguished itself from its malt counterparts and creates a refreshing choice for spirits lovers. Tasting Notes:

Togouchi 15 Year Old Blended Japanese Whisky 700ml

Not strictly a Japanese whisky, Togouchi source grain whiskies from Scotland & Canada and aged them in Japan. This is a blend from Chugoku Jozo, who mature their whiskies in a tunnel rather than a warehouse. The temperature of the tunnel is always 15 degrees while the temperature of the cellar at the headquarters in Hatsukaichi city is a little higher than that. Nutty, spicy whisky with a lovely butterscotch mouth feel. On the palate it expresses vanilla sweetness and a fine peat iodine, with hazelnuts and chocolate on the finish. Almost feels like a whisky/bourbon hybrid. The Finer Details Style - Japanese Whisky Country - Japan Bottle Size - 700ml ABV - 43.8%

It is a blend of grain spirits that have been matured over nine years in a Togouchi cellar with a citrus aroma and a spiciness that reminds you of the fresh greenery in Togochi and malt whiskey with a well balanced fragrance and a soft sweetness like vanilla and chocolate. This whisky has been finished with a clear and dry taste and has earthy mineral characteristics and the fresh citrus and subtle herbaceous fragrance. 700ml | 40% ABV
