The barrels chosen for Single Barrel come from the uppermost floors of the barrelhouses that dot the hills surrounding our distillery. The extremes in temperature these floors experience during the year result in barrels which yield whiskey of uncommon smoothness, aroma and flavour with notes of vanilla, toasted oak and caramel. Once chosen the whiskey is bottled a single barrel at a time, never mixed with whiskey from other barrels. Because whiskey drawn from an individual barrel enjoys the individual flavor imparted by that barrel each bottle is hand-labeled and marked with the number of the barrel, its rick and the bottling date." It’s those extra years of aging that give Jim Beam Black its full-bodied flavour with smooth caramel and warm oak notes. FLAVOUR: Full-Bodied, Heavier, Caramel, Well-balanced, Rich and Flavourful. AROMA: A Deep nose with a mix of carameloak, cinnamon and Vanilla. Alc 40%

There's an old axiom that claims "Two heads are better than one". Can that theory be transferred to whiskey barrels? Jim Beam's Double Oak might answer that question. You see, they initially mature this bourbon in freshly charred American oak barrels, and then move the whiskey over to a fresh set of freshly charred American oak barrels for the second part of its maturation! A worthy replacement for the now discontinued Jim Beam Black. Nose: Full-bodied vanilla, old oak, milk chocolate and a kick of cardamom. Palate: Subtly peppery/oak-y at first. Soon enough, waves and waves of vanilla ice cream bring balance to the palate. A few touches of fruity malt. Finish: Charred oak toastiness lingers long on the finish. Alcohol Vol. 43%
